I was referred to Nick Roberts by my ANZ Bank Manager following a business review meeting back in May 2012.
I was told that Nick was experienced in Business Development and being new to running my own business I was excited and thrilled that an accountant could not only help me with my tax and GST but advice and direct me in any future developments that came my way.
Firstly was the need to set-up a program so that I could effectively monitor both income and outgoings so to establish which items I was making the most profit from which would then help me to plan and establish an effective marketing plan.
I had struggled to come up with the funds to pay my Fringe Benefit Tax the previous year only for Nick to inform me that I actually didn't need to pay a cent - not the advice I had got from my previous accountant!
I must admit though the thought of moving from one accountant to another made me feel quite sick. I like most business owners was time poor yet here I was putting more pressure on myself by making this change. Much to my surprise the move across was very easy - just a few papers to sign and Nick took care of this rest! Wow just too easy! No face to face meeting with the existing accountant either which would not have been pleasant!
What I have found with Nick is that there is no silly questions. They excel at making you feel very comfortable by explaining accounting in normal everyday terms. I felt as I was given loads of free advice and there was no end of appropriate books and written material to read in hard copy and on Nick's website. I found it refreshing that Nick also meets you at your workplace - he is able to build a clear image of your business and what it is you do day to day.
So all in all I really cannot recommend Nick enough - he is a great accountant and business adviser!
